**Biden Visits New Hampshire to Highlight Health Care and Campaign for Democrats**
President Joe Biden traveled to New Hampshire on Tuesday to promote the benefits of legislative measures enacted during his term, focusing on health care and prescription drug cost reductions. Speaking at the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, the trip is expected to be Biden's final visit to the state as president.
Before Biden addressed the audience, a number of his longtime allies took the stage. They included prominent members of the congressional delegation, none of whom are running for reelection. Notably, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont participated in the event, vehemently criticizing big pharmaceutical companies.
Sen. Sanders highlighted the fact that one out of four Americans cannot afford the medications prescribed by their doctors. He emphasized that efforts to reduce prescription drug costs would significantly lower overall health care costs, insurance premiums, and out-of-pocket expenses for patients.
When Biden took the podium, he reiterated these points and used the opportunity to critique former President Donald Trump. Despite being an official White House event, Biden criticized Trump on his health care policies. “My predecessor, the distinguished former president, wants to replace the Affordable Care Act with what he calls a ‘concept of a plan.’ I’ve heard that for almost eight years now. What the hell is a ‘concept of a plan’? He has no concept of anything,” Biden said.
Following his speech, Biden visited the New Hampshire Democratic Party headquarters for a campaign-related event supporting Vice President Kamala Harris. Here, he endorsed the entire Democratic ticket in New Hampshire, including Joyce Craig, the former Manchester Mayor and current Democratic candidate for governor, and Maggie Goodlander, who is running for Congress in the 2nd District.
Biden thanked the attendees for their dedication to electing Democrats and stressed the urgency of the upcoming election. He warned that a Trump victory could undo the progress achieved by Democrats over the past four years. “There’s only two things we can do: guarantee that he doesn’t win, or if he does, make sure that we have the strongest Democratic majority we can get,” Biden stated.
The visit marked Biden's third trip to New Hampshire this year, having previously stopped in Goffstown and Manchester in March, and Nashua and Merrimack in May. Biden is now set to return to Washington, D.C., with plans to travel back to the White House on Tuesday night.
