In a shocking turn of events, Chad Irish, a 55-year-old parolee, was viciously assaulted by a mob of enraged neighbors in Kips Bay on Monday. The attack came after police took Irish into custody for his alleged involvement in the death of 31-year-old Yazmeen Williams. Irish has since been charged with concealment of a human corpse, but not with Williams' killing.

The New York Police Department confirmed on Tuesday that Irish faced additional charges of criminal possession of a weapon and menacing, which were unrelated to Williams' death. The young woman's body was discovered in a sleeping bag placed on a dolly, surrounded by black garbage bags in front of a building on E. 27th Street last Friday. The New York City Medical Examiner's Office determined that she had died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Surveillance footage obtained by detectives showed a man in a motorized wheelchair dragging Williams' lifeless body to that location. While the NYPD has not confirmed if this individual matches Irish's description, several friends of Williams revealed that she had known a wheelchair-bound man in the neighborhood.

Williams' family believes that she was acquainted with her killer, further deepening the mystery surrounding her tragic death. CBS New York reported that Williams was about to commence a job at the city's Department of Housing Preservation on the day she lost her life, highlighting her aspirations in criminal justice.

During Irish's arrest on Monday near E. 27th Street and Second Ave, a disorderly crowd formed and became furious. The wheelchair-bound parolee was transferred to a gurney amidst chaotic scenes, prompting physical attacks from some members of the mob. Disturbingly, onlookers were heard pleading for Irish's demise and attempting to tear his clothes off. Police and EMTs struggled to protect him until he was eventually placed in an ambulance. Irish was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Public records indicate that Irish had two listed addresses, one in the Bronx and another at the Nathan Straus Houses, an East 28th Street New York City Housing Authority development, not far from where Williams' body was found. At the time of his arrest, Irish was on parole for a robbery conviction in the Bronx. Data from the New York Department of Corrections reveals that Irish has an extensive criminal history, including attempted arson, assault, and multiple robbery charges. The New York Post reported that he has been arrested 21 times.

As the investigation into Yazmeen Williams' tragic death continues, her grieving family reminisces about the bright future she had ahead. With dreams of becoming a lawyer, Williams was on the cusp of launching her career in criminal justice. She had a twin brother and a younger sister, both of whom remember her fondly as a loving sibling who always took care of them.

The Department of Housing Preservation, where Williams was set to work, has not yet issued a statement regarding her passing. The community now waits anxiously for answers, desperate to uncover the truth behind this disturbing crime.
