One Dead, 23 Injured in Maryland Bus Crash on Interstate 95

A tragic bus crash occurred early Sunday morning on Interstate 95 in northern Maryland, resulting in one fatality and leaving 23 others injured, according to the Maryland State Police.

The incident occurred at approximately 6 a.m. when a Ford E-450 bus, designed for multiple occupancy, carrying 24 individuals lost control and collided with a guardrail in Harford County. Tragically, one passenger lost their life at the scene of the crash.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, transporting the driver as well as the remaining 22 passengers to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately reported.

Following the crash, the investigation led by the Maryland State Police Crash Team commenced, with the aim of uncovering the circumstances surrounding the accident. The investigation includes determining the origin and destination of the bus, providing essential insight into the incident.

For the duration of the investigation, the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 were closed, causing significant disruption to traffic flow. Fortunately, these lanes have since been reopened, allowing motorists to resume their journeys.

At this stage, no charges have been filed. Authorities continue to gather evidence and information pertaining to the crash, ensuring a comprehensive investigation.
