In a devastating incident that occurred on Sunday in Glenview, a 17-year-old Glenbrook South High School senior lost his life and two others were left injured. The Northbrook man responsible for the crash, 21-year-old Taeyoung Kim, now faces multiple charges, according to authorities.

Kim has been charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence causing death, reckless homicide, aggravated driving under the influence causing great bodily harm, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs, reckless driving, speeding, driving without lights when required, and improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, Glenview police confirmed in a statement.

The tragic incident unfolded when Kim was driving recklessly in a westbound direction, colliding with the vehicle of the victim, 17-year-old Marko Niketic. Witnesses at the scene reported that the impact of the high-speed collision resulted in Niketic's late-model Mercedes being split in half.

Tragically, Niketic was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Kim, on the other hand, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Both passengers, one from each vehicle, sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for medical attention, according to the authorities.
