### Nevada Man Arrested with Loaded Firearms Outside Trump Rally in Coachella

COACHELLA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities reported the arrest of a Nevada resident who had a loaded shotgun, handgun, and ammunition in his SUV at a security checkpoint outside a rally for Donald Trump on Saturday night in the Southern California desert. The incident came to light following a statement by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department on Sunday.

The 49-year-old suspect from Las Vegas was driving a black SUV when he was stopped by deputies at the rally in Coachella, located east of Los Angeles. The man was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine. He was later released after posting a $5,000 bail on the same day.

According to online records, the man is set to appear in court on January 2, 2025.

The security measures at the rally were stringent. Media personnel and VIP ticket holders had to pass through multiple intersections guarded by state and local law enforcement officers before reaching a large grassy area where their vehicles were thoroughly searched by K-9 officers. General ticket holders had to park about three miles away and were transported to the rally site via buses.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco is expected to hold a news conference in the afternoon to provide further details about the arrest.
