**Mysterious Rug Sparks Viral Sensation and Police Investigation in Columbus**

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) - A seemingly innocuous home improvement project has led to a viral internet sensation and a police investigation in Columbus. A buried carpet, unearthed in the backyard of a home on Cummington Road, has prompted widespread internet speculation and amassed millions of views on social media.

Homeowner Katie Santry and her boyfriend made the unusual discovery while digging to install a fence. They came across a deeply buried rug, which initially seemed like a minor oddity. However, after experiencing strange occurrences like a shattered computer screen and moved desk objects, Santry turned to TikTok. Her joke about a potential dead body wrapped in the rug, followed by a ghostly haunting, captivated millions, with one video alone garnering over 7.5 million views.

Santry's TikTok followers encouraged her to contact the police. Although she felt hesitant, fearing she might seem irrational, she eventually made the call. Initially, officers conducted a preliminary investigation and left, but curiosity persisted. Santry received a follow-up from the homicide unit, expressing interest in revisiting her property with sniffing dogs.

During a live TikTok session, which attracted over 100,000 viewers, police dogs began to search the area. Santry, both nervous and overwhelmed by the sudden attention, ended the livestream abruptly when the dogs appeared to react to the rug.

Columbus police, utilizing K-9 units, have not found any remains or visible clues so far but plan to continue their investigation. They have stated that there are currently "no conclusive findings."

Santry remains in shock over the unexpected turn of events and the massive attention her videos have received. She hopes to use this viral moment to raise awareness and funds for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. The police are expected to return for further examination of the rug, leaving the public eagerly awaiting more updates.
