The mother of a Georgia teenager facing charges for a deadly school shooting has been indicted in connection with an unrelated domestic incident. Marcee Gray, 43, stands accused of exploiting an elderly person and other offenses in Ben Hill County, as reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The charges do not appear to be linked to the tragic events that unfolded at Apalachee High School earlier this month, where her teenage son, Colt Gray, allegedly carried out a shooting rampage that claimed four lives and left several others injured.

Marcee Gray's indictment is reportedly connected to an incident last year involving her 74-year-old mother. According to a police report, Gray's mother informed authorities that her daughter had restrained her to a chair, confiscated her phone, and abandoned her for an extended period. Following this unsettling episode, Marcee Gray traveled to Barrow County to confront her former husband, leading to her subsequent arrest on charges including criminal trespassing and property damage. She admitted guilt and received a 45-day jail sentence as a result of these transgressions.

Messages left for Marcee Gray went unanswered, with her legal representation remaining undisclosed at this time. The defendant had previously contacted the high school on the morning of the shooting, expressing concern after receiving a text message from Colt Gray containing an apology. Despite the gravity of the incident, Marcee Gray has maintained that her son is not a "monster," a sentiment echoed in a subsequent statement she released. Meanwhile, Colt Gray's father, Colin Gray, is facing charges related to the shootings, accused of providing his son with access to the firearm used in the tragic attack.
