Milwaukee Mayor, Cavalier Johnson, has called on pro-Palestinian demonstrators to carefully evaluate the policies of both major candidates before launching any aggressive attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris at the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Speaking in an interview on NewsNation's "The Hill Sunday," Johnson emphasized the importance of understanding the choices facing the American people in the upcoming presidential election.

Johnson stressed that the current presidential race presents a "binary choice" between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. He urged protesters to thoroughly examine the policies and stances of both candidates on the Israeli-Palestinian issue before directing their criticism towards Harris. According to Johnson, the Democratic party advocates for a lasting peace in Israel and Gaza and is actively working towards providing humanitarian relief for the Palestinian people.

The mayor encouraged protesters who wish to end the suffering in the region to take into account the policies and directions laid out by both presidential candidates. By doing so, they will ensure a more informed approach to their demonstrations and actions.

Johnson, who presided over the city of Milwaukee hosting the Republican National Convention last month, defended the right to protest and emphasized the importance of working with organizers to prevent any damage or disruption to the city. He highlighted the city's efforts to facilitate peaceful protests during the previous convention, allocating designated protest zones with amplified sound, and organizing a parade route for demonstrators. The mayor stressed that collaboration between various stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and protest organizers, ensured that both the voices of demonstrators were heard and public safety was maintained.

As the Democratic National Convention approaches, Johnson's message serves as a reminder for protesters to engage in constructive and well-informed demonstrations. By considering the policies of both presidential candidates, protesters can effectively advocate for their cause while maintaining a peaceful environment for all.
