In a scathing rant on his podcast, sports radio host Mike Francesa took aim at New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh for his handling of quarterback Aaron Rodgers' unexcused absence from minicamp. Francesa, known for his blunt criticism of New York sports teams, accused Saleh of being incompetent and abdicating his own power to the quarterback.

Francesa didn't hold back in his criticism, describing Saleh as someone who "doesn't know how to handle any situation" and exacerbates problems when speaking to the media. The radio host pointed out Saleh's recent comments about Rodgers' absence, questioning the coach's contradictory stance on the matter.

"If it's an unexcused absence, how can you be fine with it?" Francesa exclaimed. He argued that Saleh's leniency undermined the importance of mandatory attendance, suggesting that other players would feel empowered to skip events as well.

Francesa didn't mince words when it came to Saleh's overall performance as head coach, highlighting his disappointing 18-33 record in his first three seasons. The radio personality accused Saleh of relinquishing his own power and becoming a mere puppet at the quarterback's beck and call.

"You can't do that as a head coach," Francesa asserted, emphasizing the importance of maintaining control and authority over the team. He concluded that Saleh's approach ultimately diminishes his chances of success in the long run.

While Francesa's criticisms aligned with those voiced by other pundits, such as Pat McAfee, some may argue that the radio host's harsh language and direct attacks overshadowed the valid points he raised about Saleh's handling of the situation. As the debate surrounding Saleh's leadership in the Jets organization continues, it remains to be seen how the head coach will respond to this latest round of criticism.

It is worth noting that neither Aaron Rodgers nor Robert Saleh has responded publicly to Francesa's comments at the time of this writing. The New York Jets have yet to issue an official statement regarding the situation.
