In a swift turn of events, a Massachusetts man has been taken into custody for his suspected involvement in an armed robbery that took place in Randolph, according to authorities. Eliezer Beato, a 20-year-old resident of Malden, was arrested on Friday, four days after the incident occurred near Johnson Drive, as confirmed by Randolph Police Chief Anthony Marag. Another suspect, 18-year-old Shaun Culbreath-Isles of Malden, had been apprehended shortly after the robbery took place.

The armed robbery unfolded on Monday around 1:20 p.m. when officers responded to a report of an armed hold-up in the vicinity of Johnson Drive. During the incident, two individuals allegedly brandished a black revolver and targeted a person in a vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Eyewitnesses at the scene revealed that it appeared three young men, including the victim and two others, tried to pursue the suspects who were fleeing in a vehicle. Emmanuel Ofoarami, a resident of Johnson Drive, recounted how he spotted a white car in his backyard, which prompted him to alert the authorities. Ofoarami expressed his fear when he saw three individuals inspecting the car. He emphasized that he had not witnessed their arrival, just their presence near the vehicle.

Culbreath-Isles was swiftly arrested by Randolph police following a foot pursuit. According to law enforcement, he was found in possession of stolen jewelry, a cellphone taken from the victim, and stolen checks. Meanwhile, Beato managed to elude the authorities, fleeing on foot towards the town dump area adjacent to Route 24. Despite extensive efforts to locate him during the initial search, Beato evaded capture.

Investigators eventually identified Beato as the second suspect. On Friday, a joint operation between Randolph and Malden police led to Beato's arrest at a residence on Warren Avenue in Malden. At the time of his apprehension, Beato was found in possession of eight stolen checks. He was subsequently transported to the Randolph Police Department, where he was booked on charges of armed robbery, malicious destruction of property, and resisting arrest. Beato appeared in Quincy District Court on Friday afternoon for arraignment.

Meanwhile, Culbreath-Isles faces a series of charges that include armed robbery, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of a burglarious tool, and eight counts of receiving stolen property. The investigation into the armed robbery continues, with authorities looking into any potential ties to other criminal activities in the area.

The swift arrest of the two suspects provides some sense of relief to the community, as law enforcement works diligently to safeguard public safety. As the legal proceedings progress, Randolph residents hope for a swift and just resolution in this case.
