In the early hours of Sunday morning, a devastating mass shooting took place at a party in West Philadelphia, resulting in the tragic deaths of three individuals and leaving several others wounded. According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. at the intersection of Alden Street and Girard Avenue, where a gathering of about 100 to 150 people had assembled.

Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace revealed that all three victims who lost their lives were adult men. The first casualty, a 33-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the injured victims, a 23-year-old man who sustained gunshot wounds to the leg and stomach, was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries later. Inspector Pace noted that this particular victim had been shot from very close range, suggesting that he may have been specifically targeted.

During a press update at approximately 9:20 a.m., police officials disclosed that a third fatality had been recorded. The victim, a 29-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach, was pronounced dead at around 3:08 a.m. The identities of the victims have not been released pending notification of their families.

In addition to the fatalities, several others were wounded during the chaotic exchange of gunfire. Among them were a 28-year-old man shot in the foot, another 28-year-old man shot in the thigh, a 26-year-old woman shot in the buttock, a 27-year-old man who sustained a leg injury with a graze wound to the head, a 28-year-old man shot in both shoulders and the knee, and a 30-year-old man who was struck twice in the left thigh. As per officials, all these victims were listed in stable condition as of 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Law enforcement authorities are currently investigating the incident and have yet to determine the motive behind the mass shooting. No arrests have been made at this time, and police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in their ongoing investigation.
