In a week filled with outreach to transfer portal targets, Mark Pope, the newly appointed head coach of Kentucky men's basketball, is set to reveal his coaching staff to the public. According to reports from KSR's Matt Jones, Pope is expected to bring on five assistants for his first staff.

While three of the five positions have been "locked in," with one assistant already assisting Pope in recruiting, the official announcements regarding their identities are anticipated to be made later this week or early next week. However, before any coaching hire can be formally announced by the University of Kentucky, the job postings must remain online for at least seven days.

Two of the positions will complete the seven-day period on Thursday, while the other three will reach the mark on Saturday. Therefore, it is possible that some coaching appointments might be announced as early as Friday. The additional report also states that Ray "Rock" Oliver, who has worked alongside previous head coaches Rick Pitino and John Calipari in UK Athletics, will remain on staff but will not be counted as one of Pope's five assistant coaches.

Speculations have been circulating about possible staff members from Pope's previous team at BYU, including assistant Cody Fueger and director of video and analytics strategy Keegan Brown. However, no official confirmation has been made, and it appears that concrete information about the coaching staff may not be available until the end of this week.

In another intriguing development, former Kentucky point guard Tyler Ulis, who served as a student assistant coach under Calipari for the past two seasons, may soon transition into a graduate assistant role upon completing his bachelor's degree this spring. Whether Pope plans to bring Ulis on board for a full-time coaching position remains uncertain.

As the anticipation grows, fans and the basketball community eagerly await the official announcement of Pope's coaching staff, which will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Kentucky men's basketball.
