In the aftermath of a tragic crossbow attack that claimed the lives of three women in Bushey, Hertfordshire, the suspect, Kyle Clifford, is currently hospitalized with serious injuries and has yet to speak to the police. The victims of this horrifying incident were identified as Carol Hunt, 61, Hannah Hunt, 28, and Louise Hunt, 25.

Hertfordshire Police have recovered a crossbow believed to be linked to the attack but have been unable to question Clifford due to his medical condition. Clifford, who is 26 years old, was found injured at a cemetery in Enfield on Wednesday.

This devastating event has garnered attention from the highest levels of government, as Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer announced that the government will be reviewing legislation surrounding the use of crossbows in the wake of "this awful incident". Home Secretary Yvette Cooper will examine the results of a Home Office review that was conducted earlier this year, to determine if there is a need for tighter laws surrounding crossbows.

Clifford, the suspect in the attack, was previously in a relationship with Louise Hunt, one of the victims. According to Hertfordshire Police, there were no previous reports of police contact between Clifford and the victims.

The Hunt family has been mourned by many, as emotional tributes continue to pour in from their friends, fellow broadcasters, and members of the sporting world. A church vigil was held in Bushey at St James's Church, where more than 50 people gathered to pay their respects.

Detective Superintendent Rob Hall from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit expressed his condolences to the family and assured that they are being supported by specially trained officers during this devastating and indescribable time. He reiterated the commitment of law enforcement to seek justice for the victims and their family, acknowledging that the investigation will undoubtedly take time.

The police statement confirmed that Mr. Clifford is still receiving medical treatment in a London hospital and that no shots were fired by officers during his capture at Lavender Hill Cemetery.

As the investigation continues, the thoughts and condolences of the nation remain with the grieving family and loved ones affected by this shocking tragedy.
