Man Fatally Shot in Apparent Self-Defense Attack at Monrovia Home

In a tragic incident that unfolded on Monday night, a man was shot and killed in what appears to be an act of self-defense. The shooting occurred around 9:47 p.m. at a residence located in the 400 block of South Shamrock Avenue in Monrovia.
Authorities responded to a distress call regarding a possible violation of a restraining order. Upon their arrival, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department discovered an Asian male suffering from a gunshot wound. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the LASD, preliminary investigations indicate that the Asian male approached the home armed with knives and attempted to assault a white male and white female residing at the property. Faced with this imminent threat, the female resident fired a shot, ultimately stopping the assailant from advancing any further.
Both the male and female occupants of the home were subsequently questioned by law enforcement officials. However, neither of them was arrested in connection with the incident. The motive behind the Asian man's presence at the property with weapons, as well as the nature of their relationship, remains unknown at this time.
