In a tragic incident that unfolded near Las Vegas, a man named Eric Adams fatally shot five people and critically injured a 13-year-old girl before taking his own life, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department. The authorities had been on the hunt for Adams since Monday night's shootings, which occurred in separate apartment units.

Police initially responded to reports of a shooting late Monday at an apartment in North Las Vegas, where they discovered two women in their 40s and late 50s deceased. As the investigation progressed, officers learned about a teenage girl who had been rushed to the hospital in critical condition due to gunshot wounds. Further investigation led them to another nearby apartment, where they found the bodies of two women in their mid-20s and a man in his early 20s. All five victims had been fatally shot.

Efforts to locate Adams' relatives for comments were unsuccessful at the time of reporting. Authorities had described him as "armed and dangerous," launching an overnight search for the suspect. On Tuesday morning, police received information that Adams was spotted at a business in North Las Vegas.

As officers approached the area, they spotted Adams carrying a firearm and fleeing into the backyard of a neighboring home. Despite repeated commands to drop his weapon, Adams refused to comply, ultimately taking his own life.

The motive behind the shootings remains unknown, and authorities have labeled the incident as an "isolated incident." The North Las Vegas Police Department has not provided any further information or comments on the case.
