Police have apprehended a man for breaching restricted areas at Windsor Castle, the Thames Valley Police reported. The intruder was discovered on the royal estate shortly after 13:00 BST on Sunday.
According to authorities, the man, in his 30s, was "swiftly challenged" by officers from the Metropolitan Police and was unable to access the inner precincts of Windsor Castle. The suspect was detained on suspicion of trespassing on a protected site and possessing class A drugs.
Following his arrest, Thames Valley Police confirmed that the individual has been released on bail as investigations continue. A spokesperson further clarified that although the man managed to enter the restricted grounds, he did not gain entry into the more secure areas of the castle.
