**LeBron James Endorses Kamala Harris, Criticizes Trump in New Video**
LeBron James, the esteemed Los Angeles Lakers player and the NBA's all-time leading scorer, officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday. James cited personal reasons for his endorsement, stating, "When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me."
James's endorsement did not come as a surprise. Standing at 6-foot-9, the basketball star has a history of supporting Democratic candidates. In previous elections, he has campaigned for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and he has frequently voiced his disapproval of former President Donald J. Trump.
In promoting Harris, James shared a video that combines historical civil rights protests and abuses with recent comments made by Trump. The video includes footage from a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden and concludes with the message: "Hate takes us back." This strongly implies that Trump is a divisive figure who perpetuates racism.
The relationship between James and Harris extends to earlier this summer when they met in Las Vegas as the U.S. men's basketball team was preparing for the Summer Olympics in Paris. The American team later secured a gold medal at these games under the leadership of head coach Steve Kerr, who also spoke at the Democratic National Convention.
James has long aligned himself with Democratic ideals. In 2008, he supported Barack Obama's presidential campaign by hosting a free concert with Jay-Z in Cleveland. In 2016, he campaigned for Hillary Clinton, even writing an opinion essay in her favor and introducing her at a rally in Ohio. His opinions on Trump were made clear during the 2017 NBA Finals when the Golden State Warriors, with Stephen Curry, defeated his Cleveland Cavaliers.
