Prominent members of the Kennedy political dynasty have delivered a resounding endorsement of Joe Biden's re-election campaign, stunningly rebuffing their relative, Robert F Kennedy Jr, who is running as an independent candidate for the White House. At a Biden campaign event in Philadelphia, Kerry Kennedy, one of six siblings of RFK Jr, passionately declared her support for the US president, equating him to her late father Robert F Kennedy and late uncle President John F Kennedy.

Speaking on stage, Kerry Kennedy hailed President Biden as "my hero" and lauded his commitment to the rights and freedoms her father and uncle stood for. Referring to JFK and RFK's parents, she proudly stated, "That's why nearly every single grandchild of Joe and Rose Kennedy supports Joe Biden. That's right, the Kennedy family endorses Joe Biden for president."

In a heartfelt response, Biden expressed his deep gratitude for the Kennedy family's support, calling it "an incredible honor," second only to an introduction from his sister. Taking the opportunity to contrast visions, he condemned Donald Trump's "anger, hate, revenge, and retribution" as he pledged to embody the hope and optimism that Bobby Kennedy once exemplified.

While the Kennedy family refrained from directly mentioning RFK Jr's candidacy, Kerry Kennedy's remark that "in 2024 there are only two candidates with any chance of winning" clearly underscored their position. The Biden campaign fears that RFK Jr's entry into the race may siphon crucial votes away from the president in November.

Taking aim at Trump, Kerry Kennedy labeled him as "the most anti-democratic president" in history, stressing that his actions and false statements would have appalled her father. Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, she declared, "We cannot afford to ignore his warning" and the potential consequences of another Trump presidency.

Fifteen members of the Kennedy family were present at the event, manifesting a united front against RFK Jr's controversial views on issues such as Covid-19 and vaccinations, which they have previously denounced as "deplorable." Kerry Kennedy, an acclaimed human rights activist, refrained from discussing her brother's campaign during her speech. However, in a CNN interview earlier that day, she acknowledged their differing opinions and emphasized that the day was about America, freedom, and democracy.

RFK Jr acknowledged his family's endorsement of Biden in a tweet, acknowledging their political activism and expressing his love for them despite their differing opinions.

As the Kennedy family throws their considerable political weight behind Joe Biden's re-election bid, it remains to be seen how their endorsement will shape the upcoming 2024 election and impact RFK Jr's independent run.
