### Joel Embiid Expresses Frustration Over Leaked 76ers Team Meeting
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid didn't hold back his discontent after details of a team meeting surfaced following their Monday night loss. Addressing reporters after a subsequent road defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies, Embiid condemned the leak, stating, "whoever leaked that is a real piece of s-t." The leak, initially reported by ESPN, involved veteran guard Kyle Lowry calling for the meeting after the team slumped to a 2-11 record. During the session, Tyrese Maxey reportedly criticized Embiid for his habitual tardiness.
When questioned on Wednesday, Embiid refrained from delving into specifics but noted that the issue with Maxey took only "30 seconds" of the conversation. He added, "It's Joel Embiid, so we've got to make everything blown out of proportion. I'll take it all. I'm the reason for everything, so I'll take the blame for everything."
Despite the tense scrutiny, sources reveal that Embiid, 30, and Maxey, 24, maintain a healthy relationship based on mutual accountability. Someone present at the meeting disclosed to ESPN, "Tyrese loves Big Fella, but this is the elephant in the room." Following Wednesday's loss, the two All-Stars were seen engaging in lengthy discussions without any visible tension, reported the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Embiid emphasized this dynamic is typical within their relationship. "I like when people are telling me what I'm not doing good, what I need to do better," he said. "Even though that part [the tardiness] maybe happened once or twice, when I wasn't playing. I need to be better. I need to be perfect. I need to be on point, which I'm going to do. Which I've always done."
During the contentious meeting, Sixers players also expressed to head coach Nick Nurse that they desired more rigorous coaching, while the coaching staff requested improved attention to detail, as per ESPN.
Adding to Embiid's frustration with the media, earlier this month, he confronted an Inquirer columnist after the writer's piece criticized his reliability, noting personal details about Embiid's family. This led to an altercation in the locker room on November 2, resulting in a three-game suspension for the former MVP.
