In a significant development on Tuesday, Israel launched a strike on Beirut, targeting a Hezbollah commander accused of orchestrating a rocket attack that resulted in the deaths of 12 young individuals in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights over the weekend. The military operation led to the reported killing of the militant commander, with at least three others also losing their lives in the strike. Israeli forces identified the target as Fouad Shukur, a senior Hezbollah military figure allegedly responsible for past deadly attacks, including the 1983 Marine bombing in Beirut. The strike, carried out with a drone, caused significant damage to Hezbollah's stronghold in southern Beirut. Escalating hostilities between the two sides have left dozens wounded, with the public health ministry confirming 74 injuries from the latest strike. Hezbollah has not yet verified the death of the commander, but tension continues to rise as Israel holds the militant group accountable for the recent violence.
