### Continued Tensions: Israel and Hezbollah Engage in Escalated Warfare
In a notable escalation of conflict, Israel continued its airstrikes on Beirut on Sunday night, retaliating against a series of rocket attacks by Hezbollah. The militant group launched approximately 250 rockets and other projectiles into Israel, marking one of their most intense barrages in recent months. According to the Israeli military, around 160 of these rockets reached northern and central regions of Israel, some of which were intercepted.
The barrage inflicted significant damage and injuries. In Haifa, a rocket struck a residential building, which police have now declared at risk of collapsing. The assault from Hezbollah resulted in wounding at least seven people across the affected areas, intensifying the already fraught situation.
The conflict intensified further when an Israeli airstrike targeted a Lebanese army center on Sunday, leading to the death of one soldier and injuring 18 others, as confirmed by the Lebanese military. Additionally, another Israeli airstrike on a building in Shmustar, located in the Baalbek region, led to the death of 17 individuals, including a mother and her four children, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
This escalation highlights the ongoing and deep-rooted tension between Israel and Hezbollah, raising international concerns over stability in the region. As airstrikes and rocket attacks continue, the human toll is mounting, further complicating prospects for peace.
