**Employee's Sudden Death Under Investigation at Halifax Walmart**

Halifax Regional Police are currently looking into a sudden death that occurred at the Walmart in Halifax's west end. Authorities released a statement late Saturday night urging the public to avoid the area while the investigation is underway. While specific details about the incident have not been disclosed, it has been confirmed that the deceased is a Walmart employee.

Walmart spokesperson Amanda Moss expressed the company's sorrow over the loss. "We are heartbroken and our deepest thoughts are with our associate and their family," she stated. Moss added that the company extends its sincerest condolences to those who were close to the employee. Walmart is also providing its staff with 24/7 virtual care and on-site support, including grief counseling, to help them cope with the tragedy.

The Labour Department has acknowledged awareness of the situation but stated that the police currently have control of the scene and have not disclosed any additional information.

As of Sunday morning, police presence was still visible at the store located on Mumford Road, with two police vehicles stationed outside. Walmart has temporarily closed the store to cooperate fully with the police investigation.
