**Investigation Underway Following Altercation at Orangeburg County Early Voting Location**
State authorities are currently investigating a physical altercation that occurred Wednesday at an early voting station in Orangeburg County, South Carolina.
The incident involved a man wearing a "Let's go Brandon" hat and poll workers at the voting site. According to video footage sent to WIS News 10, the confrontation started when poll workers informed the man that he could not vote at the old Orangeburg County Library location while wearing the hat. The man became agitated and began cursing at the poll workers.
The video shows poll workers repeatedly asking the man to remove his hat and directing him to take it outside. When the man threw his hat towards the next voter in line, a physical fight broke out. At one point, a poll worker can be seen hitting the man, and several poll workers tried to restrain him as he swung his arms.
The Orangeburg County Department of Public Safety responded to the scene following the disturbance. South Carolina law prohibits voters from wearing attire that displays political party affiliations, candidate names, or ballot issues within 500 feet of a polling site entrance. Poll managers are required to keep this area free from political material and can request law enforcement assistance to enforce this regulation.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is actively investigating this incident. Early voting in South Carolina will continue until November 2.
