Headline: Social Media Influencer Identified as Driver in Fatal Malibu Car Collision

In a tragic incident in Malibu, one person has been killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a Mercedes Benz and a Cadillac SUV on Pacific Coast Highway. The driver of the Mercedes has been identified as Summer Wheaton, a wellness advocate and social media influencer.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the accident occurred when Wheaton's 2019 Mercedes Benz crossed the center median and crashed into a 2020 Cadillac traveling west. The driver of the Cadillac was pronounced dead at the scene, while Wheaton and a passenger in the Cadillac were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Wheaton, who was formerly a licensed real estate agent, has recently positioned herself as a founder, speaker, and wellness advocate, with a significant following of over 100,000 on Instagram. However, following her identification as the driver involved in the fatal crash, Wheaton made her Instagram account private.

The social media influencer is also recognized as the CEO and founder of two innovative startups, one of which markets vending machines with healthy snacks. However, her personal website, where she promotes her businesses and provides information for speaking engagements, has been removed from public view and is now accessible only to the owner.

As of now, Wheaton has not responded to requests for comment regarding the incident. The crash remains under investigation, as stated by a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Department.

Notably, the fatal collision took place around 10:20 p.m. in the 2200 block of Pacific Coast Highway, coinciding with a party being held at Nobu Restaurant. It has been reported that the event did not have the necessary city permits, according to the Malibu Times.

As the investigation into the accident continues, authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to the collision and determine any contributing factors.
