### Vicksburg Hunter Scores Big on Opening Day of Michigan’s Firearm Deer Season

**VICKSBURG, Mich.** - The start of Michigan's firearm deer season has already yielded impressive results for local hunter Brennan Dee. On the very first day, Dee captured a massive buck estimated to have at least 20 points, a notable achievement in the hunting community.

"We were just sitting in the tree stand, and not really paying attention when I noticed something. I looked up from my phone and saw him coming right towards us through the woods. I thought, ‘That's the big one,’” explained Dee. Showing clear excitement, she described how this is the largest deer she has ever taken down.

Despite this early success, Dee has no plans of concluding her hunt prematurely. "I’ll try to get back into the woods; there are more out there," she said with a smile.

As the season unfolds, many hunters are also concerned about Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD), a lethal disease affecting deer. This year, the disease has been prolonged due to unseasonably warm weather extending into November.

"We’ve been vigilant about checking for signs of EHD. All the deer we've observed on our trail cameras look healthy and show no signs of being sluggish or sick. We make it a point to monitor them closely, and everything seems to be fine so far," Dee reassured.

With a significant start, Brennan Dee's successful hunt highlights both the excitement and the environmental concerns present as the firearm deer season begins in Michigan.
