Illinois Governor, JB Pritzker, recently shared his belief that former President Donald Trump is "bewildered" by the excitement and energy generated by Vice President Kamala Harris among Democrats. Speaking in an interview on MSNBC's "The Beat" with anchor Ari Melber, Pritzker emphasized that Harris is the perfect person for the present moment and that her palpable enthusiasm would lead the party to victory in the upcoming November elections. He also stated that Trump seemed to have no idea how to handle the growing excitement surrounding Harris and the Democratic Party.

Pritzker, who is one of the potential running mates for Harris, expressed his optimism about the upcoming Democratic National Convention, which will be hosted in his home state of Illinois, specifically in Chicago later this month. Pritzker stated that they are planning a phenomenal convention and that the excitement is already palpable. He mentioned that preparations at the United Center, the venue for the convention, are underway, with the place being spruced up and looking terrific.

Alongside Pritzker, several other names have been floated as potential running mates for Harris. The shortlist includes Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

The rise of Harris as the likely Democratic presidential nominee came after weeks of turmoil within the party due to discussions about replacing President Joe Biden at the top of the ticket. This was prompted by a rough debate performance by Biden against Trump in late June. According to the latest national polls from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Trump is currently leading Harris by 1.1 percentage points, with the former president garnering 47.6 percent support compared to the vice president's 46.5 percent.

In response to Pritzker's comments, Steven Cheung, spokesperson for the Trump campaign, dismissed Pritzker's remarks, stating that nobody has ever been excited for a "loser" like Pritzker, therefore questioning his understanding of excitement.

The anticipation and enthusiasm surrounding Kamala Harris within the Democratic Party continue to grow, with politicians and voters eagerly looking forward to the upcoming Democratic National Convention and the November elections.
