The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has identified the woman who was discovered dead inside a sealed trash can on Tuesday morning as 32-year-old Heather Haas. Haas' decomposing body was found by authorities after neighbors reported an unusual odor in the area.

Around 10:30 a.m., law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and began investigating the black trash can, which had been placed along the curb as if it were awaiting regular trash pickup. Video footage from Sky5 captured the officers examining the can, but it was later confirmed that it did not belong to the neighborhood.

The exact duration in which Haas' body had been in the trash can remains unknown, and a thorough investigation into the cause of her death is ongoing. The Los Angeles Police Department has not released any description of potential suspects at this time.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Los Angeles Police Department at 1-877-275-5273.

This tragic discovery has left the community shocked and concerned as they await further details from the ongoing investigation.
