In a shocking incident, Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a minor injury in a shooting that took place at a nightclub in Sanford, Florida on Saturday night. The Texans announced Dell's injury in a statement released on Sunday and informed that he has been released from the hospital and is in good spirits.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 news station in Houston, Dell was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a mass shooting at the nightclub. He was not involved in the altercation that escalated into the shooting.

Officials from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office reported that a 16-year-old named Christopher Bouie Jr. was arrested as the suspected shooter. Bouie faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide, discharging a firearm on public property, and possession of a firearm by a minor. He is currently being held in a juvenile detention center.

The shooting occurred after a fist fight broke out at the Cabana Live nightclub. Bouie allegedly pulled out a gun and started shooting into the crowd, injuring 10 people. Fortunately, none of the injuries are life-threatening, with victims mainly suffering from lower extremity wounds.

Witnesses described the chaotic scene, with gunshots causing panic and people scrambling for safety. Neisha Foster, one of the witnesses, recounted her terror and seeing several injured individuals, some with gunshot wounds to the leg and arm.

The Cabana Live nightclub acknowledged the incident in a social media post, expressing cooperation with the ongoing investigation.

For Dell, this injury adds another setback to his promising career. The 24-year-old wide receiver had a breakout rookie season with the Texans in 2023 before fracturing his fibula, which prematurely ended his season. He made significant contributions to the team, with 41 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns over 11 games.
