Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was among the ten individuals injured in a shooting incident at a club in Florida on Saturday night. The incident took place at Cabana Live in the early hours of Sunday morning, when a suspect opened fire near the back of the establishment.
According to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, nine other people suffered minor injuries in the incident. Most of the victims were shot in the lower body. Local media reported that officers on patrol in the area were alerted to the gunshots emanating from the back of the venue. As a result, the crowd quickly dispersed in panic. Authorities believe the gunfire was the result of an escalated argument.
Fortunately, a security guard was able to apprehend the suspect, who is reported to be a 16-year-old. The suspect was subsequently booked into the nearby Juvenile Detention Center. It remains unclear whether the teenager was a guest at the private event held at the club.
In response to the incident, a spokesperson for Cabana Live took to Instagram to address the situation, expressing their cooperation with the sheriff's office and assuring visitors that the community was safe. They also mentioned that the venue had been rented out for a private event and were still investigating the cause of the incident.
