**Harris and Walz Kick Off Extensive Media Campaign Ahead of Election Day**
With Election Day just a month away, Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, have embarked on a comprehensive media campaign. This effort, which commenced on Sunday, includes a series of interviews with various traditional and contemporary media personalities, as reported by a senior Harris campaign official to NBC News.
The dynamic duo has already participated in interviews with CBS' "60 Minutes," set to air separately on Monday. This week will see Harris gracing "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday, while Walz is scheduled for the Monday edition of "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Additionally, Harris's busy Tuesday itinerary in New York includes appearances on "The View" and "The Howard Stern Show."
In a pretaped segment for the popular "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Harris engaged in a discussion with host Alex Cooper, which aired on Sunday. On the same day, Walz gave his premier Sunday show interview since becoming the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, appearing on "Fox News Sunday." During this interview, Walz demonstrated accountability by stating, "I will own up when I misspeak. I will own up when I make a mistake."
This extensive media presence follows weeks of criticism from Republicans accusing Harris and Walz of evading media inquiries. Ohio Senator JD Vance, the running mate of former President Donald Trump, notably maintained a thread on X (formerly Twitter) questioning Harris's availability for major interviews. Vance and his spokesperson, William Martin, have even speculated that Walz has been deliberately kept from the public eye due to alleged poor performance at the Vice-Presidential debate.
Furthermore, some within the Democratic Party have recently voiced concerns that the Harris campaign has been excessively cautious, avoiding direct interaction with the electorate through one-on-one interviews and town-hall meetings.
Alongside their media engagements, Harris and Walz are also intensifying their presence in battleground states. Harris will be visiting Nevada on Thursday for several campaign stops and a Univision town hall. The following day, she is set to campaign in Arizona, marking significant efforts in these critical swing states.
