**Harris and Trump Locked in Dead Heat as Election Day Nears**
With just 10 days left until Election Day, two significant national polls reveal an extremely tight race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. As both candidates intensify their campaigns across key battleground states, the race to the White House remains exceedingly close.
On Saturday, Trump kicked off his campaign efforts with a rally in Novi, Michigan, followed by another in Pennsylvania's State College. Simultaneously, the Republican vice presidential nominee, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, was engaged in campaign events in both Erie and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and started his day in Atlanta. High-profile Trump surrogates, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, united in North Carolina to boost support for the former president, while Elon Musk stumped for Trump in Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, Vice President Harris joined forces with former first lady Michelle Obama at a rally in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This comes on the heels of her recent appearance in suburban Atlanta with former President Obama. Democratic vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, made campaign stops in Window Rock and Phoenix, Arizona. In Pennsylvania, first lady Jill Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders campaigned vigorously for Harris in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Erie.
Polls released Friday show a deadlock between Harris and Trump. A New York Times/Siena College poll indicated both candidates are tied at 48%, while a CNN poll also has them neck-and-neck at 47%. These figures mark a shift from earlier polls where Harris held a slight lead.
Despite their close standings in the polls, both candidates face critical challenges. Harris has seen her favorability ratings decline, particularly among Black voters, while Trump's support among White voters remains steady but he continues to lag behind Harris in perceived trustworthiness and empathy.
The upcoming election will hinge not on national popularity but on the outcomes in seven pivotal battleground states. According to Fox News, while Trump leads nationally by two points, Harris has a notable six-point advantage in these crucial states.
Financially, Harris leads the race for campaign funds, having raised $97 million in the first half of October compared to Trump's $16 million. Even when including affiliated fundraising committees, Harris's campaign has outspent Trump's significantly and holds a hefty cash-on-hand advantage with $240 million to Trump's $168 million.
As both campaigns surge forward in these final days, the race remains one of the tightest in recent memory, with both sides pulling out all the stops to secure victory.
