In a tragic incident on Saturday, a teenager lost his life after being shot outside a residence in a west Las Vegas neighborhood. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department swiftly initiated an investigation, while detectives focused their efforts in the area of Vegas Drive and Robin Street, where the shooting took place.

According to Lt. Jason Johansson, who provided preliminary details of the investigation, the victim resided at the location where he was shot. The teenager was reportedly outside the house when he was approached by another individual described as a possible Black male in his late teens. The suspect, who was shirtless and wearing blue jeans, engaged in a brief conversation with the victim before gunshots rang out.

After the shooting, the assailant was seen fleeing the scene heading southbound on Robin Street. The police immediately set up a containment zone in the area and enlisted the help of K9 units, but were unable to locate the shooter. The victim was swiftly transported to the trauma center at University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities believe that the victim and the suspect were acquainted with each other, implying that the shooting was not a random act of violence. Lt. Johansson emphasized that the incident appears to be an isolated event. As investigators continue their work, they will remain in the area throughout the night, scouring for video evidence and potential witnesses who can contribute further information to the case.
