In a recent development, Georgia's safety David Daniel-Sisavanh has parted ways with the team due to a violation of team rules. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Georgia coach Kirby Smart, who wished David luck for his future endeavors.
The decision comes after Daniel-Sisavanh was reportedly charged with reckless driving. According to a report from the Georgia Department of Public Safety, he was driving a 2021 BMW M340i on the Downtown Connector in Atlanta. Allegedly, he made multiple lane changes at high speeds without using blinkers and led police on a pursuit.
Daniel-Sisavanh, a member of Georgia's 2021 recruiting class, had contributed significantly to the team in the previous season. He played in 10 games and even started against South Carolina. With 10 tackles and a pass breakup, he showcased his skills on the field.
However, Georgia has made preparations to fill the void created by Daniel-Sisavanh's departure. The team has signed four defensive backs in the 2024 recruiting class, with freshman KJ Bolden expected to play safety. Additionally, Georgia has acquired the talents of Alabama transfer Jake Pope and Oregon transfer Collin Gill.
In related news, Georgia has confirmed that offensive lineman Kelton Smith will no longer be a part of the football team. Smith has decided to medically retire from the sport but will remain on scholarship and help the team in a different capacity. Coach Smart expressed his support for Smith during this challenging phase and emphasized the valuable contribution he had made to the program.
Losing both Daniel-Sisavanh and Smith poses challenges for the Georgia team. However, the coaching staff remains determined to overcome these setbacks and continue striving for success on the field. The Georgia Bulldogs are now focused on the upcoming season with their newly recruited talents and the continued support of their dedicated coaching staff.
