### Violence Erupts at Aid Distribution Site in Gaza for Third Consecutive Day
The deadly conflict in southern Gaza continues as nearly 30 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in recent days while attempting to receive aid. According to local health authorities, Israeli forces opened fire on civilians en route to an aid distribution site in Tel al-Sultan, Rafah early Tuesday, marking the third consecutive day of violence.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health and Nasser hospital reported that 27 people were fatally shot and many others sustained injuries, predominantly from gunfire targeting the upper body. Dr. Marwan al-Hams, head of field hospitals in Gaza, said Nasser hospital is overwhelmed and urgently calling for blood donations to manage the influx of casualties.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed they fired warning shots at several individuals who, according to them, deviated from designated access routes. The IDF stated, "After the suspects failed to retreat, additional shots were directed near a few individuals who advanced toward the troops."
Tuesday's violent incident occurred near the same location as previous shootings in the past two days, around the Al-Alam roundabout west of Rafah. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society's paramedics reported the shooting took place in an area that is part of an ongoing Israeli military operation across Khan Younis.
On Monday, three Palestinians were killed and dozens were injured under similar circumstances. The IDF stated that their forces fired warning shots approximately a kilometer from the aid distribution point, which follows a pattern seen on Sunday when dozens more Palestinians were shot dead approximately one kilometer away from the distribution site.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), backed by the US and Israel, had announced through their Facebook page that a distribution site would open in southern Gaza early Tuesday, advising residents to use designated corridors. However, the site initially closed just an hour after the announcement before reopening to distribute 21 truckloads of food boxes without incident, according to GHF.
This ongoing violence comes amid worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza, accentuated by an 11-week blockade by Israel. The repeated clashes and fatal shootings have raised concerns over the safety and accessibility of vital humanitarian aid in the region.
