Davis, who is currently facing charges of first-degree murder for orchestrating the drive-by shooting that killed Shakur, has pleaded not guilty.

According to the court filing obtained by Fox 5, Davis claimed in a 2009 interview with Las Vegas police that Combs paid 'Eric Von Martin a million dollars for the killings' and even offered to arrange a secret phone call with the driver, Terrence Brown. Combs, however, has never been considered a suspect in Shakur's murder, and law enforcement sources continue to confirm his lack of involvement.

The court documents also included a summary of another interview with Davis from 2017, where he again suggested Combs' involvement in Shakur's death. Combs is mentioned 77 times in the nearly 180-page court documents, emphasizing the extent to which he was implicated in Davis' accusations.

Combs and Shakur were both prominent figures in the 1990s East Coast-West Coast rap rivalry. The shooting of Shakur, who was in a vehicle with Marion 'Suge' Knight at the time, fueled tensions between rival gangs associated with the rap scene.

Despite these serious allegations, Combs has never been considered a suspect in Shakur's murder, a fact reiterated by the Clark County District Attorney's Office. Combs' name frequently appears in the documents solely due to Davis' claims and not as an actual suspect in the case.

As the legal proceedings unfold, Davis, now held in a Las Vegas jail since his arrest last September, has filed a request for reconsideration of bail. However, Clark County prosecutors vehemently opposed the request, citing Davis' accusations against Combs as one of the reasons he should remain in jail.

The trial date for Davis has been set for November 4th, and the Clark County District Court Judge Carli Kierny recently rejected his bid to have a hip-hop music figure put up $112,500 for his $750,000 bail bond. Kierny expressed concerns about potential media spectacle surrounding the trial.

It is worth noting that Davis, in his 2019 memoir, claimed he was promised immunity in exchange for providing information about the shootings of Shakur and rival rap icon Christopher Wallace. Davis remains the only person ever charged in connection with Shakur's murder, while no arrests have been made regarding Wallace's case.

As the investigation continues, both the defense and prosecutors are examining every piece of evidence, including records assembled by former Los Angeles police detective Greg Kading for a book published in 2011. The contents of these records are being closely scrutinized for possible evidential value.

The allegations made by Davis against Combs highlight the complex and enduring mystery surrounding the murders of Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace. With the trial on the horizon, the focus will now shift to uncovering the truth behind these tragic events that shook the rap world almost three decades ago.
