A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support a crew member who remains hospitalized following an accident on the set of the Amazon MGM Studios film "The Pickup." The injured crew member, identified as Marvin Haven, a dolly grip with 26 years of industry experience, is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with extensive bodily injuries.

The fundraising campaign, initiated by Sean Fisher, aims to raise $100,000 to assist Haven and his wife, Melissa, during this challenging time. As of now, over $30,000 has been raised. The injured crew member's name has not been released by the studio, IATSE, or OSHA, which is conducting an investigation into the accident.

According to Fisher's GoFundMe post, Haven sustained severe injuries, including broken ribs, multiple fractures in his neck and back, a shattered scapula, a punctured lung, and a skull fracture that will require facial reconstructive surgery. In contrast, initial reports from the Associated Press stated that other crew members suffered relatively minor injuries, such as bruises and broken bones.

Expressing gratitude for Haven's survival, Fisher emphasized that his road to recovery would be long and challenging, requiring significant support from the community. Fisher emphasized that even small donations would make a difference by easing the financial burden and allowing Haven and his wife to focus on healing and recovery.

Describing Haven's passion for his work as a Dolly Grip, Fisher highlighted the heartbreaking possibility that he may never be able to return to his beloved profession. Haven has an impressive list of credits to his name, including working on projects like "The Walking Dead," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Red Notice."

The accident on the set of "The Pickup," directed by Tim Story and starring Eddie Murphy, Keke Palmer, and Pete Davidson, occurred on April 20 during a rehearsed second unit action sequence. An SUV and an armored truck collided and veered off the road, with the truck rolling on top of the SUV before both vehicles landed upright. It remains unclear whether the accident was due to a vehicle malfunction or human error.

Footage of the incident, obtained by The New York Times, showed the severity of the crash and revealed that several individuals were inside the vehicles at the time. The injured crew members were promptly taken to a hospital for treatment. The primary actors, Murphy, Palmer, and Davidson, were not present on set when the accident occurred.

Amazon MGM Studios released a statement expressing concern for the well-being and recovery of everyone involved in the accident. They assured that safety precautions were thoroughly reviewed and monitored throughout the filming process. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Marvin Haven's colleagues and industry professionals are rallying behind him, showing their support through the GoFundMe campaign. As the fundraising efforts continue, the focus remains on helping Haven and his wife navigate the difficult and uncertain journey towards healing and recovery.
