Former Detroit Tigers player and current member of the Tigers television broadcast crew, Craig Monroe, has issued a vehement denial in response to allegations made against him on social media. Monroe has been absent from the Tigers television broadcasts since the team's series against the Milwaukee Brewers on June 7-9.

In a statement released through his lawyers, Manley & Manley, Monroe asserted his innocence and expressed his shock at the allegations. He stated, "Craig Monroe did not dignify these horrifying and false allegations when they appeared on various social media sites. Now that mainstream media has chosen to report this inaccurate information, Craig has no choice but to vehemently deny these claims."
Monroe's legal team also emphasized their cooperation with law enforcement, expressing confidence that a thorough investigation would clear Monroe of any wrongdoing. They added that Monroe takes allegations of this nature seriously and would never engage in or endorse such behavior.
Furthermore, Monroe's family was mentioned as being shocked by the allegations and extending forgiveness and grace to his accuser. The statement also expressed the belief that law enforcement would uncover the truth regarding the accuser's background and motivations.
Craig Monroe, 47, has a notable history with the Detroit Tigers, having played 672 games for the team from 2003 to 2007. Following his playing career, he joined the Tigers television broadcast crew where he has been a member for several years.
