Former Baltimore Ravens star Terrell Suggs, known for his illustrious 17-season career in the NFL, has been arrested in Arizona, as announced by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. The 41-year-old football standout is now facing charges of assault and offenses against public order.

According to 3TV (Arizona's Family), Suggs made an initial court appearance on Wednesday in relation to allegations of instigating a road-rage incident in Scottsdale. The judge ordered a supervised release for Suggs following the hearing.

The court documents revealed that the incident took place on March 10 at a Starbucks drive-thru, where Suggs allegedly reversed his vehicle and collided with another car. It is reported that a heated exchange ensued, during which Suggs allegedly displayed a handgun through his window while making threats to the other individual involved in the argument.

In response to the allegations, Suggs downplayed the incident in a statement relayed through his spokesperson Denise White to TMZ. He claimed that he was simply getting coffee in a quiet area of Scottsdale near his home when the situation escalated unexpectedly. Suggs expressed fear for his own safety, uncertain of the other person's intentions, and also voiced concerns for the safety of his nearby family.

Suggs, although most recognized for his tenure with the Baltimore Ravens, has strong ties to the Arizona area. He achieved prominence playing for Hamilton High School in Chandler before attending Arizona State University. Additionally, Suggs spent a year as a member of the Arizona Cardinals in 2019.

The renowned defensive player boasts an impressive football career, having won two Super Bowl championships and received seven Pro Bowl selections. Suggs, drafted 10th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in 2003, currently ranks eighth in career sacks among all-time players, with a record of 139 sacks. Notably, he achieved double-digit sacks in seven separate seasons. In recognition of his accomplishments, Suggs was bestowed the honor of being inducted into the Ravens' Ring of Honor and also won the prestigious Defensive Player of the Year award.

Having retired from the NFL in 2020 following a short stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, Terrell Suggs now finds himself entangled in legal matters that may impact his reputation and future endeavors. The legal proceedings will determine the outcome and potential consequences for the former football star.
