Former Baltimore Ravens Star Terrell Suggs Arrested on Threatening and Intimidation Charges

Former Baltimore Ravens star defender, Terrell Suggs, was arrested on Tuesday in Scottsdale, Arizona, on charges of threatening and intimidating, along with disorderly conduct with a weapon. The charges stem from an incident that took place outside a local Starbucks on March 10, according to police records.

According to the police incident report, Suggs, 41, was driving a black Range Rover when he allegedly made contact with another vehicle after driving past the drive-thru order area. Although there was no damage to the vehicle, an argument ensued between Suggs and the other driver.

As Suggs left the Starbucks, a second argument occurred, during which Suggs allegedly threatened to kill the other individual. The former NFL star also reportedly brandished a handgun in his left hand, although he did not point it at the other party. The victim believed that they were being threatened, according to the police report.

Suggs, however, claimed that he acted in self-defense. In a statement given to TMZ on Wednesday, he said, "I was in a quiet area of Scottsdale in the middle of the day in a Starbucks drive-thru near my home when an incident happened with a vehicle behind me. I was getting coffee, I was not looking for any trouble. When the man in the other vehicle escalated the situation, I feared for my safety not knowing what his intentions were. Throughout the incident, I was the one who felt in danger, while fearing I would be followed home and for the safety of my family nearby at my residence."

Terrell Suggs had an illustrious career in the NFL, spending 17 seasons in the league, with 16 of those as a prominent player for the Baltimore Ravens. He earned seven Pro Bowl selections during his career and was named the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2011.
