Among these charges are two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of involuntary manslaughter. Colin Gray, aged 54, did not appear in person for the court proceedings; his legal team entered the plea and waived his formal arraignment on his behalf.
The incident, which took place on September 4, involved 14-year-old Colt Gray, who stands accused of killing four individuals and injuring nine others during a shooting spree at the Georgia high school. Colt Gray has also entered a not guilty plea. In October, a Barrow County grand jury indicted Colt Gray on 55 counts, which include murder charges for the deaths of four individuals and 25 counts of aggravated assault.
Both Colin Gray and his son face additional charges related to cruelty to children. The elder Gray's arrest is connected to allegations that he purchased the firearm used in the tragic event and gave it to his son as a Christmas gift. Their case underscores the legal provisions in Georgia, one of 42 states where parents can be held criminally responsible for their children's actions.
