Wisconsin Student Killed by Police After Pointing Pellet Rifle at Officers
Mount Horeb, Wisconsin - A student was fatally shot by police outside Mount Horeb Middle School in a harrowing incident that unfolded on Wednesday. The state Department of Justice provided some details on Saturday, stating that the student had pointed a Ruger .177-caliber pellet rifle at the officers and refused to drop the weapon.

Authorities were alerted to the situation around 11 a.m. on Wednesday when a caller reported an individual with a backpack and a long gun approaching the school. In response, officers arrived at the scene and commanded the student to drop the weapon. However, the student failed to comply and instead aimed the weapon at the officers.
Without delay, law enforcement discharged their firearms, striking the student. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, the student tragically succumbed to the injuries and died at the scene. Police at the scene were outfitted with body cameras, providing crucial footage of the confrontation.
