Fatal Crash Claims One Life and Leaves Another in Critical Condition in Commerce City

In a tragic incident on Saturday morning, a collision on U.S. Highway 85 in Commerce City resulted in the death of one man and left another in critical condition, according to authorities from the Commerce City Police Department.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 85 and 56th Avenue, where it was reported that a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed ran a red light. As a result, another vehicle that had the right-of-way and was turning onto 56th Avenue collided with the back-end of the speeding vehicle.

The impact sent the speeding vehicle on top of the guardrail, causing significant damage. Inside the vehicle were two adult men who sustained serious injuries. Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and rushed both individuals to a local hospital for treatment.

Initially, both men were listed as being in critical condition, alarming authorities and medical personnel who worked tirelessly to stabilize them. Tragically, on Saturday afternoon, it was confirmed by the police that one of the men had succumbed to his injuries. The other man remained in critical condition, fighting for his life.
