### Juvenile Arrested in Columbia Homicide Case, Second Suspect at Large
Howard County police have apprehended a 17-year-old male from Ellicott City in connection with a homicide discovered on October 12. The suspect, who is a student at Howard High School, was taken into custody with a loaded gun in his backpack.
The juvenile, charged as an adult with first-degree murder and related offenses, was already under the supervision of the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services for a prior incident. Police found Kendrick McLellan, a 26-year-old from Baltimore, shot to death in a vehicle located in the 8800 block of Centre Park Drive, Columbia, during a routine check at 2:14 a.m. on October 12.
Investigations revealed the shooting occurred around 5 p.m. on October 9, at the same location where McLellan's body was found. Authorities believe the suspect and the victim were acquainted, although the motive for the shooting is still being investigated.
The police are actively searching for a second suspect, who remains unidentified. They urge anyone with information to come forward.
