**Driver Hits Nurses After Dropping Off Gunshot Victim at Philadelphia Hospital**

In a disturbing incident early Saturday, a driver injured four individuals after delivering a gunshot victim to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia's University City. The driver, in a silver Jeep, struck the wounded man and three nurses before fleeing the scene, according to Philadelphia police.

The chaotic sequence began around 4:30 a.m. when the driver pulled up to the hospital's ambulance bay with a 28-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. As soon as the passenger was offloaded, the vehicle hit a 37-year-old nurse, a 51-year-old nurse, and a 36-year-old nurse, along with the gunshot victim.

All four injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at Penn Presbyterian. The youngest nurse, aged 36, is notably in critical condition. Authorities have described the Jeep's driver as a man in his early 20s and are actively searching for both the vehicle and its driver. Anyone with information is urged to contact Philadelphia police.

The shooting that injured the passenger in the Jeep is believed to have occurred overnight on Belmont Avenue, approximately a 10-minute drive from the hospital. Police are ongoing in their investigation of both the shooting and subsequent hit-and-run.

City Councilmember Jamie Gauthier expressed her shock at the incident, emphasizing the vital role Penn Presbyterian Medical Center plays as the sole Level 1 trauma center in West Philadelphia. "I am praying that all three nurses make a full and speedy recovery, most especially the one who remains in critical condition. I also commend the emergency room team for continuing to care for their patients while dealing with this traumatic incident," she stated.

A representative from Penn Medicine confirmed that support is being extended to the injured nurses and their families. "In a workplace where teams are devoted to caring for others, this incident is devastating to our staff, and is a reminder of the tragic, far-reaching toll of gun violence on entire communities," the spokesperson noted.

The gunshot victim also remains in critical condition and may have sustained a head injury from being struck by the Jeep. The area around the hospital’s ambulance bay was secured with police tape for several hours but was reopened around 7:30 a.m.
