### Damian Williams to Step Down as U.S. Attorney for Southern District of New York

Damian Williams, the chief federal law enforcement officer for the Southern District of New York, announced his planned resignation from his role as United States Attorney, effective from 11:59 p.m. on December 13, 2024. Following his departure, Edward Y. Kim, who is currently serving as the Deputy United States Attorney, will step in as the Acting United States Attorney.

In his statement, Williams expressed mixed emotions about his departure. He conveyed his sadness in leaving what he described as his "dream job" and a "beloved institution."
