Country Music Artist Stops Performance at Colorado State Fair After Witnessing Assault
PUEBLO, Colo. - A country music artist made headlines over the weekend when he halted his performance at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo after witnessing a disturbing incident in the crowd. In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Scotty McCreery can be seen abruptly stopping mid-song after reportedly witnessing a man hit a woman during his performance.
McCreery, who had just begun singing his hit song "It Matters To Her," noticed the altercation unfolding in the audience and immediately took action. In the video, he can be heard calling out to someone in the crowd, pointing directly at them and stating, "That's a lady you just hit, sir."
The crowd erupted in support, with people demanding that the individual responsible be removed from the concert. McCreery wasted no time in urging police and security to intervene, ensuring the safety of the woman involved. "Is she OK? Get the heck out of here," McCreery exclaimed, clearly appalled by the incident.
In a show of solidarity, McCreery then addressed the crowd, asking for assistance in identifying the assailant. He condemned the behavior, deeming it "absolutely unacceptable." Moments later, the video captures McCreery giving a thumbs-up to the crowd, indicating that the person in question had been successfully removed.
Reflecting on the incident, the country music artist expressed his disgust towards the unknown assailant. "Whoever you are, that's the definition of a coward - hitting a lady," McCreery remarked before resuming his performance, guitar in hand. His actions and words resonated with concertgoers, who showered him with applause and support.
