### Promising News for Commanders' Rookie QB Jayden Daniels Following Rib Injury Scare

The Washington Commanders received a glimmer of hope regarding their star rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels after preliminary tests indicated no fractures in his ribs. This initial assessment was reported by Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz. While Daniels is scheduled for further evaluations, the early outcomes bring relief to the former Heisman Trophy winner.

Commanders head coach Dan Quinn addressed the media on Monday, expressing cautious optimism. "The status for Jayden, we'll put down as week-to-week. As you guys know, it is a rib injury. We're hopeful he can play but also be sure to take every precautionary take for the player and the man," Quinn stated. Despite the encouraging signs, Daniels' availability for the upcoming game against the Chicago Bears remains uncertain as his condition will require monitoring throughout the week.

The concern among fans was palpable when Daniels went down during Sunday's game against the New York Giants. Regina Jackson, Daniels' mother, eased some fears by posting on social media that, "He's fine." Additionally, part-owner Magic Johnson expressed his hopes for Daniels' swift recovery.

Veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota, who stepped in after Daniels’ exit, noted the team's uncertainty but highlighted the importance of day-to-day assessments. "Obviously, it's going to take some time or whatever it is," said Mariota, who finished the game with 205 yards and two touchdown passes. "We have no idea. But I think he was in good spirits, and for the most part you just check on him, how he's doing, and we'll take it day by day."

Daniels impressed early in the game, running for 46 yards on the Commanders' first offensive snap. However, he endured multiple hits during the opening drive, leading to his injury. The exact moment of injury remains unclear, though it was confirmed by Quinn that it happened on that drive.

Chosen as the No. 2 pick out of LSU, Daniels showed visible discomfort after a third-down completion set up a field goal that advanced Washington to a 10-0 lead. He initially went to the team's bench, then to the blue medical tent for evaluation. After a brief attempt to return to the field, Daniels ultimately had to leave the game, visibly frustrated as he returned to the medical tent and then headed to the locker room.

Wide receiver Terry McLaurin noted the impact of Daniels’ injury on the team. "When you see him go down, that's tough for us," McLaurin said, while also praising Mariota's performance in relief.

As the Commanders, currently standing at a promising 5-2, look forward to maintaining their playoff aspirations, all eyes will be on the recovery and health updates of their prized rookie QB Jayden Daniels.
