In a startling turn of events, Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman endured a freak accident during Wednesday's training camp practice. While participating in special teams drills at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Foreman sustained a direct blow to the head, resulting in neck pain, the team confirmed.

According to a statement released by the Browns, their athletic training staff immediately implemented their standard emergency action procedures to immobilize Foreman. Despite the alarming incident, Foreman displayed movement in all his extremities. The 28-year-old was carefully placed on a stretcher and transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital via helicopter for further examination.

Fortunately, X-rays and CT scans performed on Foreman yielded negative results, providing relief to both the player and the team. As a result, Foreman is expected to be released from the hospital and rejoin the Browns on Thursday afternoon.

D'Onta Foreman, selected as a third-round pick by the Texans in 2017, showcased his abilities as a versatile running back during the previous season with the Bears. He accumulated 425 rushing yards and contributed five touchdowns, four of which came from rushing plays. Foreman's presence is significant in supporting fellow rusher Nick Chubb's recovery from a knee injury that abruptly halted his 2023 campaign.

General Manager Andrew Berry, in a recent update on Chubb's rehabilitation progress, mentioned that the talented rusher still has some distance to go in his recovery. The Browns, who achieved an 11-6 record last season and secured a playoff appearance for the first time since 2020, are eagerly anticipating Chubb's return to full strength.

Looking ahead, the Browns are preparing to kick off the 2024 season with a home game against the Cowboys on September 8. As they embark on their new campaign, the team will be relying on their dynamic running backs, including the resilient D'Onta Foreman, to lead them to further success on the field.
