Cardinal Mooney Graduate Ed Policy Named Next Chairman and CEO of Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have officially announced that Ed Policy, a Cardinal Mooney graduate, will be the next Chairman of the Board, President, and CEO of the iconic NFL franchise. Policy will assume his new role in July of 2025, during the Packers Annual Meeting of Shareholders, when current CEO Mark Murphy retires.

Policy brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served 13 years with the Packers organization, including his current role as the chief operating officer for the past seven years. In a statement released by the team, Policy expressed his excitement, stating, "This is the absolute best job in sports. We are the stewards of the most iconic and unique organization in all of professional sports. I am excited to continue working with my talented teammates who have ensured the Packers' consistent success on and off the field. We are the people's team, and I love being a part of it."

Prior to his time with the Packers, Policy gained valuable professional sports experience in the Arena Football League (AFL), where he spent nine years from 2001 to 2009. During his tenure, he held various positions, including a stint as commissioner, president, and CEO from 2008 to 2009. Following his AFL career, Policy served as an executive consultant with the NFL from 2009 to 2010, where he provided strategic and development guidance to the league's senior management.

Interestingly, Policy comes from a football legacy. His father, Carmen Policy, played a pivotal role as part of five Super Bowl championship teams with the San Francisco 49ers. Carmen Policy served as the Vice President of the 49ers from 1981 to 1990 and later became the President and CEO of the franchise from 1991 to 1997. Additionally, he went on to become the President and minority owner of the Cleveland Browns from 1998 to 2004.

With his extensive background in football management and his deep understanding of the Packers organization, Ed Policy is poised to lead the franchise to continued success on and off the field. Fans and shareholders alike are eagerly anticipating his tenure as the next Chairman and CEO of the Green Bay Packers.
