As his daughter innocently touched the mulch of a neighbor's yard, an altercation erupted, and the neighbor, whose name has been identified as Devereaux Christopher Johnson, allegedly brandished a gun, threatening the Morris family.

Tragically, his attempts to mediate the conflict resulted in him being shot and critically injured. Authorities swiftly responded to reports of the shooting and found Morris lying in the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
